Galway’s dedicated international arts festival for children, Baboró, will announce their full festival line up on Tuesday, September 5th, with tickets on sale Wednesday, September 6th. Get festival ready with this sneak peek at three events Baboró has in store for the whole family. These include a new show from Irish companies Fidget Feet and Ceol Connected, ‘When The Moon Spun Round’, while Australian company, Slingsby will make a welcome return to the festival with ‘The Boy Who Talked to Dogs’. At the Galway Arts Centre, families are invited to the engaging arts exhibition, I See You Like This, also from Australia.
With an array of home-grown and international talent, this will be a spectacle for young and old alike, as Baboró unfolds across various venues throughout Galway city and county. This annual celebration of childhood creativity, culture and art takes place over ten days this October, from Friday 13th-Sunday 22nd, 2023.
When The Moon Spun Round:
Age 6-12
Irish company Fidget Feet and Ceol Connected return to the festival with When the Moon Spun Round bringing the epic true story of the Byron Bay ‘Dog Man’ to the stage.
The Boy Who Talked to Dogs:
Age 12+
From Australia, Slingsby will perform The Boy Who Talked to Dogs. This rough-and-tumble tale fuses shadow puppetry, live music, and stunning physical performance to bring the epic true story of the Byron Bay ‘Dog Man’ to the stage.
I See You Like This:
This engaging visual art exhibition by Jessica Wilson will invite Galway families to create and view their own photographic portraits in the Galway Arts Centre.
