Saturday is rocking in Galway! One of Galway’s favourite bands, The Weightless Astronauts will bring their brand of pop/rock to Monroe’s Live, while comedy fans will enjoy an evening with the inimitable Oisín Hanlon at the Róisín Dubh, Tobi Kaye delivers music with soul, an acoustic artist with a big sound at the Skeff Late Bar and Kitchen, while DNA nightclub comes alive to the best beats with Ireland’s top DJs. It’s an unmissable night of live music right here in the city of the tribes.

Monroe’s Live
11pm: Weightless Astronauts:
One of Galway’s longest running and most popular bands, Weightless Astronauts are taking to the stage at Monroe’s Live this Saturday, June 24th at 11pm. This four-piece band are renowned for their high octane performances that will keep you on your feet all night long. The talented members on drums, bass, keyboards, guitars and vocals have played, worked and toured with artists of such calibre as Westlife, Shane Filan, The Sawdoctors, The Hothouse Flowers, Mickey Harte, Mary Coughlan and Daniel O’Donnell.
This is testament to their dedication to their craft as they deliver rousing renditions night after night. With a wealth of experience, this exciting band will play all of your favourites. Described as “brilliantly funny”, Oisín Hanlon has performed worldwide throughout America and Europe at legendary comedy clubs like The Comedy Store (London), Caroline’s (New York), Upright Citizens Brigade (New York), New York Comedy Club and Laugh Factory (Chicago). Now, this Saturday night, he will take to the stage at the Róisín Dubh in Galway’s Westend.
Co-creator and host of The High and Dry Podcast, Oisín is unconventional and guaranteed to raise an eyebrow thanks to his wilful and surreal writing and delivery. Having started out in Galway, he is returning to his roots with his irreverent and dynamic style of humour following performances all over Europe from Berlin to Granada. A regular on the Dublin comedy scene, Oisín Hanlon delivers his quick wit and a high energy show, with an intriguing vibe and offbeat flow.
