11pm: Experience The Nomadic Indie-Rock Soul of The Frisky Gypsys at Monroe’s Live
The fusion of musical influences that fuels the nomadic soul of Cork-based indie-rock band, The Frisky Gypsys is set to ignite the stage at Monroe’s Live on Saturday, May 13th. Renowned for their dynamic performances, this energetic four piece effortlessly cross the genres between modern alternative, pop and classic rock, while remaining strongly grounded to contemporary folk-rock roots.
It is this eclectic combination that has gained The Frisky Gypsys a solid reputation as one of Ireland’s most passionate and soulful original bands. Formed by vocalist Steven Hamilton, his gritty tones convey their emotionally charged lyrics, giving the group a unique sound which has captured the hearts of their audience.
Having opened for The Riptide Movement at the Castle Marquee in Wexford last year, The Frisky Gypsys are on an upward trajectory. Their edgy, raw style and rousing guitar riffs build to catchy crescendos, leaving listeners with the power of the chorus, long after the song has ended.

It’s a case of We Love Saturdays at DNA night club in the heart of Galway city. The rhythm is going to get you at DNA this Saturday, May 13th as two top DJs take to the decks at the plush nightclub, which boasts four bars, three levels, two dance floors, two outdoor terraces and a beautifully decorated, comfortable VIP Lounge named ‘The Attic’. With DJ Ahmed in the main room and DJ Adam D in the basement, it’s set to be a night of top anthems and thundering tunes to keep you on the dance floor all night long. Best known for his slot on Spin 1038, DJ Ahmed makes a welcome return to the Galway venue, while Adam D will keep the tunes spinning this Saturday night.

Currently working on their debut album, Money 4 Cans are Galway’s new high energy band bringing a heavy hard rock edge to their songs. Regularly found busking on the streets of the city, this dynamic group play everything from stomping originals, to Nirvana and the Saw Doctors. Without doubt, it’s set to be a fast and furious gig with gritty vocals, rousing guitars and bass and you might find a rollicking sax instrumental or two. Join this up and coming band, Money 4 Cans at The Cellar bar on Eglinton Street this Saturday night.

11pm: Red Tape
Red Tape will rock the Quays Music Hall this Saturday, May 13th with their powerful take on classic covers and anthems. It’s set to be a night of hard rock to the best beats, as Red Tape power through the ultimate setlist to ensure you will be on your feet and dancing. Described as Galway’s rockiest, funkiest and ‘poppiest’ band, this driving four-piece will entertain the night through at the historic Quays venue in the heart of the Latin Quarter. 9pm: Tobi Kaye
The Galway based singer and composer brings a fresh twist to the pop genre thanks to his strong gospel, blues, and rock influences. His original works unleash a dark romanticised social commentary on life, love and war. Baring his heart on his sleeve and his soul through his lyrics, Tobi Kaye is a rare talent who is on the rise. Not to be missed at the Skeff this Saturday night, with stomping originals, classic covers and anthems to have you on your feet all night long.

The Roisin Dubh
7pm: The US Office Quiz Night:
The Róisín Dubh will be transformed into Dunder Mifflin this Saturday night with the US Office Quiz. This fully themed event, organised by WOMP, will have prizes for the top 3 scoring teams, as well as spot prizes for Best Dressed, Best Team Name and those whose memory berets are in working order. Prove yourself to be a Kevin, not an Oscar! Registration and photo round from 6pm. Quiz begins at 7pm.
