March Adventures in Salthill

Marching into Spring in Salthill

Salthill is alive as the return of Curry’s Fun Park signals the start of the new season for the seaside destination of choice. The iconic big wheel will be turning above the host of amusements right in time for the 2023 St. Patrick’s Festival.

Traditionally, St Patrick’s Day breathes new life into the village as the influx of visitors heralds the start of the exciting events taking place from March onwards. Following the excitement of the city parade, Salthill is the perfect place to unwind with a wealth of dining options right on the doorstep of Galway Bay.

St Patrick’s Festival in Salthill

Surrounded by the sweeping views of the Wild Atlantic Way, it is the place of choice for walking the world-famous promenade, discovering the wonders of our natural sea life at the Atlantaquaria, and taking in the sights and sounds of the entertainment on offer at Leisureland and Seapoint.

On Sunday, March 19th, Salthill will host a unique family fun day at Salthill Park organised by Galway City Council. This event will bring together young and old with exciting outdoor activities for all.

As Salthill eagerly awaits the awarding of the ‘Purple Flag’ which designates a safe night-time environment, the collection of over 60 businesses who are part of The Village Salthill are looking towards the summer with anticipation.
