Empowering African Communities on International Women’s Day

To celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th, Paul and Mary Grealish and the staff at the King’s Head Bistro are hosting a unique charity lunch in aid of Self Help Africa. From 12:30pm to 2:30pm, the historic Galway city centre venue will serve a sumptuous three course meal with all proceeds going to the charity.

In particular, the event will help Self Help Africa to support women and families living in some of the poorest communities in Africa. The organisation provides them with the ability to produce more food, earn more from their farming activities and help mothers and fathers to provide a better life for their children.

Three Decades of Service to Women in Africa

Attendees will hear from guest speaker Mary Sweeney, who has worked on many of these initiatives for the past 30 years. She will share her experiences and stories of the incredible women who are working to make life better for their families in some of the poorest regions of the world.

This International Women’s Day Lunch for Self Help Africa’ will be an opportunity to have fun, raise awareness and fundraise for this worthy cause. Tickets for this three-course meal at the King’s Head Bistro are priced at €40.
