Róisín Dubh

7pm: Anna Clifford: I See Dead(ly) People

At the Róisín Dubh, Anna Clifford presents her new show, I See Dead(ly) People, at 7pm. After attending an ayahuasca retreat in the wilderness and returning a changed woman, Anna found herself facing a global pandemic, a ghosted boyfriend, and a mother with a potentially fatal illness. In this hilarious show about positivity versus the world, Anna shares unbelievable real-life stories that are sure to have you in stitches.

8pm: Legendary Irish Music Stalwarts are On The Road Again at Monroe’s Live

Monroe’s Live is hosting “On The Road Again” at 8pm, featuring Irish music legends Fiachna Ó Braonáin of the Hothouse Flowers, Tom Dunne of Something Happens, and multi-instrumentalist Alan Connor. The three-piece will deliver a night of stories and songs, showcasing their decades of experience both in Ireland and abroad.

The Ardilaun Hotel

6:30pm: The NBCRI Charity Valentines Ball

At The Ardilaun Hotel, the NBCRI Charity Valentines Ball starts at 6:30pm. With a four-course gala dinner and a variety of entertainment, including mentalist and magician Jamie Skelton and music from PK Brass and guests, this black-tie ball is a perfect way to win over your loved one while supporting breast cancer research.

Skeffington Late Bar

8pm: Tobi Kaye

At the Skeffington Late Bar, Galway-based singer and composer Tobi Kaye will perform his original works that unleash a dark romanticized social commentary on life, love, and war. Following his performance, DJ Ferg will keep the party going from 10pm.

DJ Darren B and DJ Paul Belton:

DNA, located in Ball Alley Lane, features two DJs, DJ Darren B and DJ Paul Belton, on separate floors for a night of thumping tunes and remixed classics to keep you dancing all night long.

 

Galway City Museum:

10:30am: Who Is Odysseus Anyway? And 2pm Homer’s Odyssey

For those with children aged 8-12 years old, the Galway City Museum hosts a lively and interactive public talk and activity session with Dr. Pádraic Moran at 10:30am, titled “Who Is Odysseus Anyway?” Participants will learn how to use ancient writing tools, the names of ancient Greek deities, and how to write their names using the Greek alphabet. Later at 2pm, Dr. Pádraic Moran will give a talk on teaching ancient classics through Irish in the University of Galway, including a trilingual reading of Homer’s Odyssey by Chiara Corongiu, Mary Madec, and Laoighseach Ní Choistealbha.
